Behind the Block: Stacey Fillery

If Stacey could swap lives with anyone, she’d be heading straight into New York City, living her best life as Carrie Bradshaw, surrounded by designer shoes and big-city energy.

But while Sex and the City might be a dream, Stacey’s reality is just as full, balancing a fast-paced role as a Block Accounts Manager, raising her two-year old daughter and bringing a calm, supportive presence to the Glide team.

We caught up with Stacey to find out about the person behind the role and what makes her such an important part of Glide.

It would be Carrie Bradshaw from Sex and the City.

Because who wouldn’t want to live in NYC with hundreds of pairs of designer shoes?

For Stacey, it’s all about doing things properly.

A traditional spaghetti carbonara, the Italian way, with plenty of garlic bread on the side, followed by tiramisu for dessert.

No shortcuts. No substitutions. Just perfection.

And honestly, when life is busy, there’s something very satisfying about it.

Outside of work, Stacey’s world revolves around her two-year-old daughter, who she describes as her mini best friend.

And while she might not call it a “skill”, balancing a demanding job and raising a toddler who doesn’t sleep is arguably one of the most impressive talents on the team.

If Stacey wasn’t working in property, she’d be a midwife, a role centred around care, support and helping others through some of life’s biggest moments.

“Don’t be so hard on yourself trying to have everything figured out, everything works out how and when it should.”
