Behind the Block: Meet Dan Perry

If you spend enough time around the Glide office, there’s one phrase you’re guaranteed to hear:

“How extraordinary”

It’s not from a film.

It’s not a famous quote.

It’s just very, very Dan Perry.

As part of our Meet the Team series, we caught up with Dan to find out a little more about the personality behind the role and what we discovered were roast dinners, dart skills and strong karaoke confidence.

🎬If Dan could live the life of one TV character…

It would be Mick Shipman from Gavin and Stacey.

Why? Because he’s just a legend.

Simple. No overthinking. Just iconic, understated energy, which feels quite fitting.

🍽️The last meal question (important stuff)

Dan isn’t going extravagant. No fusion menus or dramatic final requests.

Just a proper roast beef dinner with cauliflower cheese.

Classic. Reliable. No nonsense. You can learn a lot about a person from their roast dinner preferences.

🎤Karaoke confidence level: high

If the mic comes out, Dan’s choice is Follow Me by Uncle Kracker.

It’s confident. It’s nostalgic. It’s pub at 10:30pm energy.

And yes – it absolutely fits.

🥨Guilty pleasure?

Pork scratching.

And frankly, there’s no guilt involved.

You can’t beat a packet with a pint.

🎯Life outside Glide

Dan’s main hobby? Darts.

Which pairs suspiciously well with pork scratchings and a pint.

But here’s the twist – he can throw a dart backwards and it will still usually hit the dartboard.

We’re not saying it’s a transferable property management skill… but it is impressive.

📚If not property…

Dan’s dream job would be a Business Studies teacher.

Helping young people understand potential, ambition and opportunity, which ties in nicely into the advice he’s give his younger self:

“Don’t limit your potential.”

Short. Sharp. Surprisingly motivational.

❄️One thing on the bucket list

A cruise to Alaska.

Big skies. Ice landscapes. Something completely different from the dartboard, but equally adventurous.

💙What Dan enjoys most about Glide

For Dan, it comes down to the people.

The working relationships.

The atmosphere.

The fact that going to work is never a chore.

And honestly, that might be the most extraordinary answer of all.

From roast dinners to backwards dart throws, Dan brings humour, confidence and strong team spirit to Glide and we’re proud to have him as part of it.
